Hard-wearing with unlimited colors
A type of ceramic, porcelain, is made of a non-porous clay called Kaolin, together with sand and glass. It's fired at higher temperatures, resulting in a heavy, denser tile that makes for an ideal floor tile in heavily trafficked floors like the kitchen or bath. However, the countless colors, patterns, and styles make it suitable for any room in the house, walls, and tub/shower surrounds.
Porcelain is entirely waterproof, whether or not it's glazed, and can be used outdoors on patio and deck floors and poolside; it stands up to any weather condition, including freeze-thaw cycles, which can crack other tiles. It also has through-body color, which means it goes all the way through, making (unlikely) chips invisible so the tile will never look shabby or in disrepair.
